"Automating the Library" Marcum
This article was mercilessly boring. I am honestly not sure who this article was aimed at and why anyone would want to read it. What attracts me to libraries and history is not this kind of history, which for some reason I found very dry. I much prefer everything else that we have read about in our class, and this was lacking a certain something, anything, that could have held my interest. Something this dull could have definitely benefited from a refreshing writing style or analysis, but this article lacked both. Who really wants to read about the proceedings of a group that funded projects? Not me. Sure, this touched upon issues of technology and the development of the library, but such issues could be found in the other articles we have read. The only reason I would write something like this would be so that others could refer to it as far as the facts of who funded what.
